Danny Maldonado: Bio

Danny Maldonado

Daniel was born to Puerto Rican parents during the fall of 1972. Carmen had just given birth to a beautiful baby boy, but was still not sure what to call him. They left the hospital without a name (later the name was added to the back of the original birth certificate). His name and it's meaning ("God is my judge") turned out to be a constant reminder of who mattered most. Daniel was the third of four children and was raised in the South Bronx. His father David was a truck driver while his mother stayed home for the most part raising the children and teaching them about the Lord Jesus Christ. Though a good kid at heart, as a teenager he came into some rough times and could've easily gotten into some trouble if not for intercessors like his praying mother along with family and church members. During these years is when the love of music and singing grew. Daniel dreamed of making music. He met Jesus at age 17 and fell in love with the Lord. Daniel was not formally trained in music. He attended Center for the Media Arts in NYC where he wet his feet in all the different facets of the Music Industry. At age 20 he married Hannah and started a family three years later with the birth of Daniel, Jr. Soon, followed Noah, Seth and then Axel. God gave him a beautiful family. Daniel was the one to stay home with the children while Hannah worked. He struggled with this idea at first, but Daniel loved God above all things and eventually God performed an inner miracle and gave him the peace to accept God's will for him. He always dreamed of making music, but now the dream was getting bigger along with the vision God was giving him. Daniel took this time between diaper changing to build his home studio and read, read, read about the music industry. He wrote songs and worked on his vocals. Completely dedicated to his family and raising his boys, he never had the time to venture out and pursue his dream. He continued to work and prepare himself at home on his dream, cherishing what God had entrusted him with. After years of trusting and obediently waiting, God opened some doors and before you knew it, Daniel had completed his first CD. "A Holy Place" was composed, written and sung by Daniel in Spanish and in English. From full time Dad to a recording artist within a matter of months. Daniel didn't know what hit him. He looks forward to the challenges ahead as God leads him to the fulfillment of the promises and the vision God gave him. He trusts the Lord to help him balance his new career and his family.
